This innovation came from Tel Aviv University, where Abraham kazir, with his team of researchers in Israel developed a portable pen that utilizes high-tech optic fibers to treat wounded human tissue. The pen has two fibers: one that points carbon dioxide based infrared laser at the injured area, and one that directs the pen to an infrared sensor that maintains ideal temperature condition for soldering. This is definitely one technology to look out for in 2017.

A user programs the desired percentage of daily sitting and standing time on a touchscreen, and the desk takes over. When it is time for a shift, the desk will signal the user a nudge, which he or she can accept or deny by tapping the screen.
